City Hall is located at 110 East Walnut Street.  There is a drive up window on the west side of the building that can accommodate most resident’s transactions.

Oglesby is a Code Red Community. 

In the event of a missing child or adult, major fires,  or other important message, Residents are alerted by phone within just a few minutes and advised of the issue and a recommended course of action if necessary.

Please register to be alerted in the event of an emergency. You can enter more than one phone.  Residents and their entire families are encouraged to be alerted on cellular phones as well as land lines.

The City of Oglesby allows golf carts/neighborhood vehicles to be operated on certain streets in the City of Oglesby.

“Golf cart,” as defined herein, means a vehicle specifically designed and intended for the purposes of transporting one or more persons and their golf clubs, supervising the play of golf or maintaining the condition of the grounds on a public or private golf course.
“Neighborhood Vehicle,” as defined herein means any road-ready electric or gas powered four wheel vehicle which a maximum possible speed of 25 mph. This term includes reference to golf carts.
“City Streets” mean any of the streets within the boundaries of the City of Oglesby which have a posted maximum speed of 30 mph and is not a State

In order to use your golf cart or neighborhood vehicle on city streets, please fill out the forms at Oglesby City Hall.

By city ordinance, each dog is required to be registered at City Hall.  There is a $5.00 fee for each dog registered and the owner is required to provide a proof of a current rabies vaccination at the time of registration.  Late registration, after July 1st, will require a $5.00 late fee in addition to the initial $5.00 registration.  There are no more than three dogs allowed at each residence.  Additionally, all owners are responsible for picking up after your dog on public and private property.

By city ordinance, vehicles are not permitted to be parked on any city street after 2″ inches or more of snowfall.  After the street is cleaned, parking regulations revert back to normal.  Failure to obey this ordinance may result in a fine.

By city ordinance, deposits are required for all rental units.  The Electric Deposit is $250.00 dollars and the Water Deposit is $50.00 dollars with a $2.50 cent service charge for each deposit.  If you move, your deposit will be applied to your final bill excluding the service charge fees.

Utility bills are mailed on the first day of the month and are due on the 10th.  Utility bills not paid by the 10th will be subject to a late charge.  For new residents, a utility application will need to be filled out.

Notices are sent at the end of the month for accounts that are in arrears.  If the delinquent notice isn’t paid by the due date, your service will be disconnected until payment and reconnect charges are paid.  Reconnect fees are $50.00, $75.00 and $100.00 dollars for the first, second and third reconnects in any calendar year.  If services are reconnected after normal business hours, an additional charge of $75.00 dollars will apply.
